On November 18th, 2024, Ugochinyere Opara’s birthday, YERE Beauty was launched. Ugochinyere introduced a line of lip products designed with subtle elegance and a genuine touch of everyday luxury.
In our conversation, she reflects on her journey, the delicate art of balancing performance with authenticity, and her aspirations for a brand that invites women to feel quietly confident in their own skin. This article is the brief story behind YERE Beauty—a story of thoughtful design, personal resilience, and a gentle celebration of individuality.
How long has your brand been in business?
We just launched on November 18th, 2024 (my birthday!)
What inspired you to launch your beauty brand, and what gap in the market were you looking to fill?

I started YERE because I wanted a beauty brand that felt effortless and liberating. A confidence boost in a tube. Every shade, formula, and detail was designed for the modern-day hot girl. And spoiler—every woman has an inner hot girl. You just need to unleash her.
Lip products are more than makeup to me; they’re the finishing touch, the exclamation point. That put-together feeling should come easy, never something you have to second-guess. I wanted to make that energy accessible to every hot girl out there.
The gap I’m solving? Lip products that activate your inner beauty and actually stay put—without the stickiness. I wanted pigment, shine, and luxury—but without the weight or the letdown of a formula that fades away too fast.
YERE is for the girls who get it—who knows a good lip combo is about the vibe as much as the color. Your lips are one of the first things people notice about you. Every time you swipe on a lip, you’re making a statement before you even speak. I created YERE to help hot girls make powerful statements—effortlessly.
And this is just the beginning. Lip products are just the start, but YERE is on its way to becoming a full-fledged beauty brand.
The vision is bigger than gloss and liners—we’re building a beauty empire.
How do you ensure that your products meet the needs of makeup artists or/and everyday beauty lovers?
I built YERE for performance and versatility. Whether you’re doing a full glam beat or just throwing on gloss before heading out—your lip product should always deliver. That’s why I created formulas with rich pigment, high shine, and zero stickiness. No one has time for a gloss that fades before they even step out.
Everyday beauty lovers want simplicity. The shades are designed to be effortless and universally flattering—just one swipe and you instantly look put together. No overthinking, just instant baddie energy.
Makeup artists want reliability. YERE glosses layer like a dream—no separating, no patchiness, just a smooth, long-lasting finish that holds up under lights, on set, and stage. It’s the kind of staple every makeup kit needs.
YERE is more than a gloss or liner. It’s the finishing touch that brings the whole look together, whether you’re a pro or just love a good lip moment.
What sets your brand apart from others in the industry?
YERE is a beauty brand as much as it’s a vibe and a movement. It gives our hot girls that effortless, put-together-without-trying energy that makes them feel like the main character in any room. It’s the perfect mix of performance, luxury, and undeniable inner confidence boosts that puts YERE in her own lane.
Our formulas are rich, high-shine, non-sticky, and effectively pigmented.
YERE shades complement different complexions and enhance, not overpower.
The energy of YERE is unmatched. Interact with our brand even once, and you’ll feel your inner hot girl kick down that door.
YERE makes beauty feel effortless, chic, and unapologetic.
Other brands sell lip gloss. YERE makes it a movement.
What’s the must-try product from your collection?
Hands down, it’s the CEO Combo. No surprise, it’s our top seller—it’s the exclamation point to your look before you step out each day. Every woman has boss energy, and this combo activates it.
Not to mention, it’s the perfect Black girl nude gloss paired with a warm, deep brown liner. The gloss smells like brownies, glides on with stay power, and delivers rich pigment. The lip liner is creamy, waterproof, and blends perfectly. If you’re gonna try one thing from YERE (well, two lol), make it this.
If you could collaborate with any person/brand, which one would it be and why?
Without a doubt, Telfar—because they’re a cultural force. Telfar redefined luxury and made it accessible, authentic, and effortlessly cool—the same energy YERE brings to beauty.
A YERE x Telfar collab would be a moment.
Think exclusive gloss shades inspired by Telfar’s iconic bag colors or a custom lip pouch designed to fit perfectly inside a mini Telfeezy. The same way people clear their schedules for a Telfar drop? They’d be lining up for this collab.
Like Telfar, YERE, too, is about culture. It’s about creating something fresh, relevant, and undeniably fly. Both brands are for the ones who move with confidence, style, and intention. It’d be iconic, and I already know it will sell out instantly.
What’s the toughest part of launching a beauty brand, and how did you overcome it?
I’d have to say the toughest part of launching a beauty brand is cutting through the noise. The industry is saturated, and while there’s room for everyone, getting people to pay attention—to actually see and connect with your brand—is a challenge.
For me, the key was staying intentional. I knew from day one that YERE wasn’t just about lip products; it’s about a feeling — that effortless, put-together energy that makes you feel like that girl. So, instead of just focusing on selling, I focused on building a brand that resonates.
Look at the names of our lip glosses and lip liners, for instance. Every shade, every name, every piece of content is designed to tell a story and create an experience.
Another challenge? Balancing everything as a solo founder. When you’re doing it all—product development, marketing, operations—it’s easy to get overwhelmed. I had to learn to trust the process, pace myself, and remind myself that everything doesn’t have to be perfect to be successful.
A favorite quote of mine is, “When you step out on faith, the ground will rise to meet you.” I live by this quote every single day. Sometimes, you just have to put it out there, listen, refine as you go, and remain consistent. That’s exactly what I’m doing now.
At the end of the day, I overcame and continued to overcome these challenges by staying true to my vision. YERE was built with intention, and when you move with purpose, the right people will find you.
What’s one key piece of advice you’d give to aspiring beauty entrepreneurs?
Definitely move with intention, and don’t wait for perfection.
The beauty industry is always evolving, and if you sit around waiting for the perfect moment, the perfect formula, or the perfect brand launch, you’ll probably never start. The truth is, your brand will evolve, your products will improve, and your audience will tell you what they need—but only if you put yourself out there and just start first.
Another major key? Know what makes your brand different. The industry is crowded, but there’s always space for something fresh and unique. What makes your brand stand out? What experience are you creating that people can’t get anywhere else? Once you lock in that vision, move with confidence and be relentless in executing it.
Lastly, be patient but consistent; DO NOT STOP. Building a brand takes time, but every post, every sale, every conversation is pushing you forward. Keep showing up, keep refining, and trust that what’s meant for you will come.
Do you have any upcoming projects or plans you’re excited about?
Oh, absolutely! YERE is just getting started, and I couldn’t be more excited about what’s next. While lip products are the heart of the brand, the vision has always been bigger than gloss. We’re laying the groundwork to expand into a full-range beauty brand, bringing that same effortless, high-performance energy to even more must-have essentials.
I’m also really focused on building community and brand awareness—creating spaces where beauty lovers feel seen, inspired, and connected. Whether that’s through exclusive drops, IRL events, or new content that brings people deeper into the world of YERE, it’s all about making beauty feel personal and powerful. More to come!
Anything else you’d love to share with the Beautypreneur Hub community?
If there’s one thing I want to leave with the Beautypreneur Hub community, it’s this: bet on yourself—fully, unapologetically, and without hesitation.
The beauty industry can feel overwhelming, but the brands that truly last are the ones built with intention and authenticity. Your vision is enough. Your ideas are enough.
But the tea is execution is what separates those who dream from those who do.
Don’t be afraid to start before you have everything figured out—because the truth is, you never fully will. You learn by moving, by testing, by listening to your audience, and by refining along the way. It took me 5 years to learn this, but that doesn’t have to be the same for you!
And most importantly? Have fun with it. Beauty is supposed to be exciting, playful, and ever-evolving.
Stay true to your mission, trust your gut, and watch how everything starts aligning exactly how it’s supposed to.
Ugochinyere Opara has set the foundation for a beauty empire that speaks to those who want high-performance products without compromise. As she continues to expand YERE, one thing is clear: this is only the beginning.
