The Person
Hi, I’m Awele! I’ve been a makeup artist for over 10 years, starting as a self-taught creative who practiced on myself (yes, there were some questionable brow moments), my family, friends, random strangers (bless their patience), and eventually, I started getting paying clients from church, then my small home town and beyond.
Over the years, I’ve gone from freelancing to working full-time with some of the world’s most iconic beauty brands, including MAC Cosmetics, Estée Lauder, Bobbi Brown, Tom Ford, Clinique etc, in retail, as an Artist and in the administrative department. I have also partnered with clients to launch some of your favourite cosmetics lines and created makeup looks for top celebrities!
However, my journey wasn’t always smooth.
In my first years working freelance, I started without guidance and made some cringe-worthy mistakes. I learned everything the hard way—through trial and error, heavy on error, especially the ones that cost me so much money.
Beyond my creative journey, I hold an MSc in Business Management with distinction from a prestigious university in England. My academic foundation and real-world experience allow me to merge artistry with innovative business strategies. This is why I’m passionate about creating a space where makeup artists and beauty enthusiasts can access the tools, tips, and resources I wish I had while figuring it all out.
The Brand
